UPDATE ON MERRITT ISLAND OFFICE REPAIRS...

1. ROOF

Many of you may have been in the office recently and seen that our roof is leaking. We are aware that this was an issue since earlier this year. We have been on the waiting list for a small commercial flat roof since the spring. There has been only a few that would do such a small job and they were very backed up. We have through the help of some of our amazing agents found a couple of other options and are hoping to have work start in the next couple weeks. In the meantime, we know this is not ideal and we will keep doing all we can to keep things cleaned up and leaking as little as possible. A huge thanks to everyone who is being so patient and our office staff for keeping this cleaned up and me informed.

Why is the roof doing this? The roof has structure damage to one side, and this causes the roof to hold water in some areas, so the rain comes, and it is sitting until it collapses in those areas into the ceiling. We identified the areas that it is coming in and opened them up so that there is hopefully not going to be other areas that it spreads to. There is no way for us to stop this from happening until the full repair is done.

We are upset that this is happening, we are paying more for the roof to be done as quickly as possible and we are addressing this daily.

2. BATHROOMS

Two of the 4 bathrooms have been posted as out of order while we waited on the county to come out and assist with the issues happening with the pipes to the sewer system. As you can imagine, we have gotten the run around from them for nearly a year. We finally found a plumber who could help us. They found the leaks were outside of the building and not within our walls as we had been telling them. We were able to dig and find the issues to repair them. We are now going to have to work to find where the pipes need to actually be and work to fix that. Once we get that fixed, we will then be able to use the bathrooms on the main side of the office once again. We are doing all that we can on our side and plan to continue forward and resolve the matter with the county after we have completed the needed repairs for our office. We are no longer waiting on them to do their portion or believe that they will help in any timely manner. We will continue to keep you updated.

3. COPIER

Our copier is currently smudging ink when we print on card stock in the Merritt Island office. We have contacted the company for the copier to come out and repair the part that is causing it to happen. We have someone who was dispatched to our office this afternoon so hopefully this will be resolved ASAP.

Please know that every one of our offices are very important to us to be fully functional and operating smoothly. We will continue to work to provide this to you all in each of our locations. I appreciate you letting us know when things are in need of attention and that you all care about our offices the way that we do.
